Believe it or not, the Honda Super Cub is the most popular selling motorcycle in the world! With over 100 million units produced since 1958, the Super Cub was quite frankly, pretty damn known. When American Honda announced that the all new redesigned Honda Super Cub 125 was going to be available to the U.S. market, we were stoked! This timeless motorcycle has been on our “must build” list for a long time, we went to work immediately.
Our goal was to build the 2019 Honda Super Cub 125 that allows the generation before us to reminisce their youth and at the same time, our generation would create new memories. The inspiration for the City Slicker Super Cub stems from the original Super Cub, which was a truly classic design. We didn’t want to step too far away from that, so we only did what was needed. We chopped and shorten both front and rear fenders, then retrofit the front suspension with aftermarket components that were intended for a Honda Ruckus, giving it 3″ lower front suspension and then we paired up the rear shocks with Racing Bros Mono R’s. Once the suspension and fender were set, we designed and machined custom hubs and would allow us to run 3pc front and rear wheels. Machined Machined in Arizona helped us with machining rim centers, which was a challenging task itself due to the size of the rims. The custom 2 tone green and off-white paint was done by Midnight Garage/Advance Auto Group in San Gabriel Valley. To make the Super Cub more stylish and comfortable, Rogelio’s Auto Upholstery in Irwindale shaped the seat with a beautiful Hazel brown vinyl material. A Yoshimura Magnum GP exhaust system was added for a nice and deep, throatier sound. Many smaller details were also added around this City Slicker, such as custom CNC parts from G-Craft and Chimera Engineering, Vans Waffle Grips, and custom lights that would allow this Super Cub to stand out.
